Pino Corporate Identity

Today were discussing some really cool branding done by the guys from Bond who are based in Finland. Below is a small rationale they wrote for the project:
“Pino is a market place for unique, functional and innovative design objects. The idea for the concept came from the name of the shop, Pino, which means a ‘pile’ or ‘stack’ in Finnish. That is taken visually into the new logo and the design of the shop fixtures. The interior concept with a subtle colour palette works as a background for the fresh, colourful identity and products.”

I think what makes this brand so cool is the fact that its so beautifully simple and to the point. I just love the little die-cut on the cards where the “I” is that plays on the concept of ‘pile’ or ‘stack’. It’s such a clean but clever solution that instantly makes you smile. The colors are fantastic, very retro 70′s and gives the brand a quirky edge, without these colors the brand could have been quite sterile.

Then off course the store, also designed by Bond is super cool, also very retro but modern, with fantastic brand application throughout, including the fantastic little shelf’s inside the “I” of the logo on the wall. I wish they would open one here in Cape Town!
