Today were excited to discuss some fantastic branding done by Jakub Rutkowski of Kommunikat done about two years ago, but still rocks our socks! Autentika is a interactive agency based in Poland that specializes in new media & technology.
It’s quite interesting that they used a designer outside of their own company to design their brand identity, then again, they’re niche is not corporate identity related and they decided to trust an expert in this field to do the job for them, which I think is commendable. Not many companies would be willing to do that. There are obvious negatives to choosing to use a designer outside of one’s own design company but there are very big positive’s too.
So what is it that makes this identity so successful and appealing?
I would say, in this case it would be the concept. All other elements like the beautiful little icons, the fantastic gradients of color and stunning scatter effects would have been empty and mere eye candy if not for this awesome concept.

Don’t you just love how simple it is! I think sometimes we as designers totally over complicate what we do and then the solution is right in front of us.
Don’t get me wrong, in all it’s simplicity one can see hours of meticulous crafting has gone into every little element that forms part of the brand, yet still it is clean and simple. The perfect balance.
